Like every year, Legambiente has nominated the best organic olive oils and wines from Italy within the event called Rassegna degustazioni nazionali di oli e vini biologici. The prize-giving event of this national competition that has now reached its 23rd edition was held at Legambiente’s Centro per lo sviluppo sostenibile, in Rispescia (Gr), inside Maremma’s Regional Park. The jury of the wine section of the competition was presided by Giancarlo Scalabrelli, professor of Viticulture at the University of Pisa, sided by a panel of experts. The commission selected wines in the following categories: white wines, rosé wines, young red wines, aged red wines, dessert wines, sparkling wines and wines from indigenous grape varieties, selecting a winner for each category. Among the 48 wineries and olive oil producers who were awarded with their products, we’re happy to say that we were present too, after the initial success with our Morellino di Scansano Roggiano Bio which was awarded, two years ago, as best  “New Entry” and best “Young Red Wine”. This year, the category that has made us even prouder of our work was once again that of Young Red Wines, and the wine is again our Morellino di Scansano Roggiano Bio with the 2012 vintage.

«What made me particularly happy  – said Benedetto Grechi, president of the winery – is that the wines were appreciated not only by the jury but also by the numerous guests who participated in the prize-giving event during which there was also a dinner with a tasting of the awarded wines. Many people came to praise our work and, to us, a positive response from consumers is always very important».
